Our clinic frequently performs torn earlobe repair procedures. Patients often seek our expertise for stretched or completely torn earlobes, commonly caused by:
Occasionally, earlobe stretching is deliberate, typically for gauging purposes.
Earlobe repair surgery is a specialized technique used to restore the natural appearance of the earlobe with minimal scarring. During the procedure, local anesthesia is administered, and a small section of tissue, including the scarred skin around the tear, is gently excised. This creates a smooth surface for reconnecting the earlobe tissue. The edges are meticulously stitched together using very fine sutures. A dressing is worn for approximately 24 hours, followed by a thin wound covering. The stitches are removed after one week.
The cost of the surgery is $480 for a simple earlobe repair and $750 for repairing gauged lobes. A pre-procedure consultation is required, and while the consultation is typically covered by insurance plans, the surgical procedure itself is not.
We also offer professional repiercing for an additional $25.
