If you’re seeking to enhance your skin’s appearance without the need for surgery or laser treatments, a PRP non-surgical facelift might be the ideal solution. As we age, our skin loses its youthful radiance. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood and injected into your face to stimulate healing and rejuvenation. It contains essential growth factors, proteins, and healing components that promote a more youthful look and feel.
A PRP facelift rejuvenates the skin, making it appear younger, healthier, and more radiant. At Ringpfeil Dermatology, we utilize this treatment to:
Platelet-rich plasma therapy has been used in medicine since the 1970s to accelerate wound healing, improve skin graft outcomes, and treat conditions like arthritis and sports injuries. PRP promotes healing due to its high concentration of growth factors. These factors encourage tissue regeneration and reduce healing time.
A PRP facelift typically takes about 90 minutes. First, we draw a small amount of your blood and process it in a centrifuge to obtain plasma with a high platelet concentration. While this occurs, we apply a numbing cream to your face. Once the PRP is ready, Dr. Ringpfeil injects it into specific facial areas using a fine needle. If dermal fillers or Botox are also requested, they are injected before PRP.
There’s no downtime after a PRP facelift, so you can resume regular activities immediately. You may experience minor skin irritation, swelling, or bruising, but this is usually minimal. PRP uses your own blood, eliminating the risk of allergic reactions.
PRP stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative processes, so results develop gradually. Initial improvements in skin tone and texture are typically seen after about 3 weeks, with full effects visible around 3 months. Results can last up to 2 years with proper skincare and sun protection.
In some cases, multiple PRP treatment sessions, spaced 3-4 months apart, may be needed for optimal results.
Individuals seeking an overall improvement in skin health may be suitable candidates for a non-surgical PRP facelift. This treatment is most effective for those with mild to moderate signs of aging and may not produce the desired results for individuals with advanced skin aging.
If you wish to restore your skin’s health and radiance, a PRP facelift could be the right choice. To learn more about this procedure and determine if you’re a candidate, please contact our Philadelphia office today.
